The Advances in Welding and Additive Manufacturing Research (AWAMR) conference will take place virtually on June 12-17, 2022. 6. Weld-Ed - Professional Development Opportunity for Welding Educators
The National Center for Welding Education and Training (Weld-Ed) is offering Professional Development (PD) courses for welding educators at all levels this summer of 2022. The National Science Foundation (NSF) funded Center holds the PD each summer at various community college locations throughout the US. The PD course schedule, course descriptions and registration information can be found at the Weld-Ed website, weld-ed.org (or please see attached).
The PD courses include 40 hours of instruction, editable PowerPoint slides, reference material, laboratory assignments, and best practice recommendations. The cost is $99 for the course and each participant will receive 40 PDH/CEU toward recertification. The PD courses have been preapproved by the AWS for recertification.
This year, through NSF funding, Weld-Ed will be covering the cost of lodging and some of the meals. Any teacher taking advantage of the offer is only responsible for travel and incidental expenses. The PD courses have limited enrollment therefore, registration should be completed as soon as possible.
For more information, please contact Weld-Ed at 866-529-9353 or visit the Weld-Ed website at weld-ed.org.

About this email:
Each month, I will distribute an electronic newsletter to all active Section Officers and Section Committee Chairpersons (who have a valid email address in our database).
The goal of distributing these newsletters is to effectively communicate important details we want you to be aware of.
I encourage you to discuss these details with your Section’s leadership team to ensure everyone is up-to-speed on all relevant news coming from AWS Headquarters as well as a feature on recent successes from some of your colleagues in the field. Reviewing these details as a team is a great way to promote and foster a strong line of communication among Section leadership as well as within your Section.
