National Welding Month (#NWM2022) is a time to make an impact on the industry through recognition, education, and service. This month, the focus should be on acknowledging the achievements of our industry tradespeople, teaching others about the importance of welding in our society, and taking steps to introduce welding into our schools and communities. National Welding Month, is also a time of year when teens and professionals may be exploring career paths and thinking about their future plans.
As Chapter Advisors and Leaders of an AWS Student Chapter, your participation/support play a major part in the professional growth of every student that walks through your doors simply by providing guidance and creating opportunities for students to grow as they explore career options with many pathways and opportunities.
“welding is the secret ingredient that keeps today’s world together!”
The “secret” part of that phrase is perhaps more pronounced now than ever. In celebrating National Welding Month, the goal is to broaden the reach of the welding community and let everyone in on the secret.
In an effort to streamline our communication with each Student Chapter and to cover items that are important, we highly recommend taking your time and read this month’s AWS Student Chapter Newsletter thoroughly.

From Gary: One of my new goals for 2022 is to keep you all updated on what's happening "behind the scenes" at AWS Headquarters. As a result, I'll be starting live, streaming quarterly member webinars highlighting important company milestones and updates that I present during quarterly AWS Staff Town Hall meetings. All sessions will be recorded and uploaded to the Member Network the following day, so if you can't join me, you'll still be able to learn what's going on here at AWS HQ.

April 2022 is the official centennial issue of the Welding Journal. In honor of this momentous occasion, we would like to turn our attention to one of the most important parts of the magazine: our readers. It is because of your support that we’re still here. And now we’d like to hear from you. Below, we’ve included a brief reader survey about the Welding Journal, and we would greatly appreciate it if you would fill it out by April 20. We will review every submission, and some responses may be highlighted in upcoming issues. Thank you for your help.

One last request: Please share this with your fellow Student Chapter leaders to ensure they stay up-to-speed on all Student Chapter-related news.
About this email:
Each month, I will distribute an electronic newsletter to all Student Chapter Advisors and active Student Chapter Officers (who have a valid email address in our database).
The goal of distributing these newsletters is to effectively communicate important details we want you to be aware of.
I encourage you to discuss these details with your Student Chapter leadership team to ensure everyone is up-to-speed on all relevant news coming from AWS Headquarters as well as a feature on recent successes from some of your colleagues in the field. Reviewing these details as a team is a great way to promote and foster a strong line of communication among Student Chapter leadership as well as within your local Section.
