In 2022 two events will be held, the first July 24-27, and the second August 7-10. Up to five students will be selected to attend each event.

The National AWS Membership Committee will review applications of all District student candidate selections and will make a final selection of up to five students per event at their Spring meeting. AWS HQ will communicate the results to all student applicants no later than May 1, 2022.
3. 2021 Annual Rebate and Anniversary Payment is on its way
The Annual Section Rebate and Anniversary Payment checks are being placed in the mail to all eligible* Sections and should be delivered to those Sections before the end of the calendar year.
We encourage Sections to deposit the check as soon as possible upon receipt and considering investing a portion of those funds in resources that will make the Section more accessible and more meaningful to the AWS members it has been established to support. For example; the AWS Houston and AWS Nashville Sections have both recently invested Section funds to acquire a Meeting Owl Pro - a 360-degree camera, mic, and speaker combined into one easy-to-use device - which has allowed them to broadcast their in-person Section meetings to an online audience, making Section activity more accessible than ever.
Please contact AWS Sr. Manager, Sections and Student Chapters, Darrill A. Gaschler with any questions regarding the 2021 Section Rebate and Anniversary Payment.
*Eligibility is based on successful fulfillment of the annual reporting requirement.
4. AWS Foundation Update

About this email:
Each month, I will distribute an electronic newsletter to all active Section Officers and Section Committee Chairpersons (who have a valid email address in our database).
The goal of distributing these newsletters is to effectively communicate important details we want you to be aware of.
I encourage you to discuss these details with your Section’s leadership team to ensure everyone is up-to-speed on all relevant news coming from AWS Headquarters as well as a feature on recent successes from some of your colleagues in the field. Reviewing these details as a team is a great way to promote and foster a strong line of communication among Section leadership as well as within your Section.
